About Ansa
AUTHOR | STORYTELLER | PERFORMER
Ansa Edim is an award-winning storyteller in Washington, D.C. She entered the wonderful world of dating apps at the age of 28, after a ten-year relationship ended in divorce.
As a form of catharsis, she started telling her story on stages. Ansa got her start performing in Story District showcases, including a performance at Washington, DC's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and went on to compete as a Moth StorySLAM winner with NPR at The Lincoln Theatre. She recently wrote her first full-length solo storytelling show, Is This Normal?, which premiered at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe to 4-star reviews.

Often the “only one” – the only Black person, the only fat person, the only fat Black person – Ansa navigates the dating space with humor and resilience. Determined to represent women like her as more than just the fat, funny friend (though she is that too), Ansa’s unique voice and relatable tales make this show a must-see for anyone questioning what ‘normal’ is for them.
She lives in Washington, DC with her sweet cats, Tiger and Jasper.
